Joey Barton scored as Newcastle beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 to climb out of the relegation zone on Tuesday.
Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton was jailed on Tuesday for six months after admitting to beating up a teenager during a night out. The sentence was handed down at Liverpool Crown Court, where the 25-year-old admitted charges of affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stemming from an early morning fight in Liverpool in December.
Kevin Keegan insists Premier League safety hasn’t yet been secured despite watching rampant Newcastle United dismantle Tottenham Hotspur 4-1. Newcastle United and England midfielder Joey Barton was refused bail on Friday after appearing in court charged with assault. Barton (25) was arrested in Liverpool, north-west England, in the early hours of Thursday and charged with common assault and affray. He was already on bail for two other alleged offences.
