Dolphins trounce Eagles in Pro20 semifinal

The first Standard Bank Pro20 semifinal bubbled and fizzed on Friday night as the Dolphins produced a powerful performance to defeat the Diamond Eagles by five wickets at Kingsmead. It was an amazing turnaround by the Dolphins, who were crushed by ten wickets when the two teams met earlier in the competition.

Eagles too strong for Dolphins

A spate of wide deliveries by the Dolphins — there were 19 extras amongst the first 22 runs — did much for the cause of the Eagles as they came back to snatch victory by three wickets in their MTN domestic championship cricket match at Kingsmead on Friday night.

Gibbs bounces back

Herschelle Gibbs, who has been going through a lean period in recent weeks, bounced back on Wednesday, making an unbeaten 74 to take the Cape Cobras to a massive seven-wicket victory over the Lions in their MTN Domestic Championship match at the Wanderers.

Dolphins have upper hand against Lions

A late start after lunch and an early closure because of fading light left the Dolphins with the upper hand on the first day of their SuperSport Series cricket match against the Highveld Lions at the Sahara Stadium, at Kingsmead in Durban, on Thursday. Heavy rain made play impossible before lunch.

Louw shines in weekend cricket action

Dolphins all-rounder Johann Louw upstaged his international teammates to give the KwaZulu-Natal side a welcome boost with a crushing 10-wicket win over the Warriors in their Supersport Series cricket match in East London this weekend. In Benoni, the Eagles were held at bay by a fantastic knock of 151 off 157 balls by the Titans’ Albie Morkel.

Dolphins seem poised for the kill

With one day left in their SuperSport Series match at Buffalo Park in East London against the Warriors, the Dolphins were poised for the kill at the close of play on Saturday. The sun in Paarl shone slightly more on the Cape Cobras than on the visiting Lions, and in Benoni, the Titans and the Diamond Eagles appeared to be heading for a draw.
