Jomo Cosmos will play in the National First Division next season after losing 2-0 to fellow relegation candidates Black Leopards in their penultimate Absa Premiership game at the Oppenheimer Stadium in Orkney on Wednesday. A goal by Myron Shongwe in the 18th minute and a strike on the stroke of half-time by Thabiso Hlalele sealed the fate of the luckless Cosmos.
Bottom-of-the-log Black Leopards beat fellow strugglers Thando Royal Zulu (TRZ) 3-2 in an Absa Premiership match played at Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday. Leopards led 2-1 a half-time. The home team, Leopards, began the game on the offensive and were rewarded when striker Robert Ngambi scored the opener early on.

Bloemfontein Celtic beat the Limpopo-based Black Leopards 1-0 in a fast, entertaining Absa Premier League game played at Giyani Stadium on Wednesday night. Leopards’ coach, Boebie Solomons, could not believe his eyes when defender Luvhengo Mungomeni scored an own goal trying to clear four minutes before halftime.

After watching — and fanatically celebrating — the Springboks’ emphatic victory in the Rugby World Cup final, the Premier Soccer League game between Moroka Swallows and Black Leopards on Sunday paled in comparison. A 91st-minute goal had Swallows coach Ian Gorowa obviously relieved at getting the three points.

Golden Arrows beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) clash at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Saturday. There was no score at half-time. Amazulu registered their second win of the PSL season when they beat Black Leopards 2-1 in scorching heat at Giyani Stadium, Thohoyandou.

A clinical, workmanlike Black Leopards mauled and ultimately devoured Platinum Stars while winning a one-sided Premier Soccer League game 2-0 at a largely deserted Giyani Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Goals from the industrious Myron Shongwe in the 30th minute and David Makgale in the 61st minute added to Stars’ discomfort.
