The Leopards qualified for a play-off in the quarterfinals of the Vodacom Cup competition on Friday night by beating the Wildebeest 37-32 in the Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. In other matches, the Blue Bulls, Boland Kavaliers and Free State Cheetahs also emerged victorious.
It started off as no more than a stroll in the park for the Sharks at the Absa Stadium in Durban on Saturday. But in the end it became a struggle for the weakened KwaZulu-Natal side to overcome a determined bottom-placed Valke in their final round-robin Absa Currie Cup rugby match.

The Absa Currie Cup match between the Valke and Western Province at Bosman Stadium in Brakpan on Friday night was lively and exciting at times. Western Province won the game 46-23 to keep their slim Currie Cup semifinal hopes alive. The Cape visitors, seeking four tries to retain some hope of reaching the semifinals, eventually scored six tries.
