Free State Stars surprised themselves with their first win of the season when they beat Black Leopards 3-2 at Thohoyandou Stadium in the only Premier Soccer League match played on Saturday. Striker Sifiso Vilakazi gave Stars the lead via his head early on in the first half.
Santos’ battle against relegation received a boost when they beat Black Leopards 2-0 in a Premiership Soccer League match played at Thohoyandou Stadium on Tuesday. Santos led 1-0 at half-time after striker Carlo Scott put the visitors ahead in the 30th minute with an easily taken goal.

Black Leopards drew 2-2 against Moroka Swallows in a Castle Premiership match marred by controversy at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday. Leopards led 2-0 at half-time. The match had to be stopped for 10 minutes in the second half when Leopards supporters started throwing missiles on to the pitch.
A journalist from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Shandukani Mathagu, was arrested on Saturday in Zimbabwe, the SABC confirmed on Sunday. Mathagu was held on the Zimbabwean side of the Beit Bridge border post as he allegedly did not have a passport and had entered Zimbabwe illegally.
