The 2004 champions Tunisia and Angola sealed the last two quarterfinal places at the African Nations Cup on Thursday. The pair fought out a goalless draw in Tamale to head Group D which earned Tunisia, table toppers on goal difference, a quarterfinal tie with four time winners Cameroon on Monday.

Senegal and South Africa were eliminated from the African Nations Cup after a 1-1 draw in their last Group D match in Kumasi on Thursday. Both teams needed a win to revive slim hopes of reaching the last eight but finished behind Tunisia and Angola in the standings.

Senegal have imposed a media blackout after the publication of a story in the local press about skipper El-Hadji Diouf staying up late at a nightclub 48 hours before a crunch Africa Cup of Nations Group D tie against South Africa. ”We want to be focused on the match and do not want any distractions from the media,” said an official.

Battered Tunisia got off the floor to deliver a stunning late goal and draw 2-2 with Senegal on Wednesday in a 2008 Africa Nations Cup Group D thriller. Issam Jemaa gave the 2004 champions an early lead they held until first-half stoppage time when Bayal Sall equalised.
