The countrywide road freight workers’ strike has entered its fifth day as no resolution could be reached on Thursday night.
Wage talks to end a countrywide strike by road freight workers could not be resolved by late Tuesday, the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union said.
Unions and the Road Freight Employers’ Association will meet on Tuesday to thrash out solutions to a wage dispute.
Samwu will present a wage offer to its members on Wednesday to end a bus driver strike that has left commuters stranded for more than a week.
A strike by Johannesburg Metro Bus drivers entered its second week on Monday after weekend talks failed to reach an agreement.
Wage negotiations between truck drivers and their employers will continue on Wednesday, the Road Freight Employers’ Association said.
