The Gauteng Economic Development Agency (Geda) has dismissed claims that it gave former chief executive Carl Niehaus a hero’s farewell.

The Democratic Alliance on Thursday hit out at Gauteng premier Paul Mashatile over the appointment of embattled former ANC spokesman Carl Niehaus.

The ANC accepted Carl Niehaus’s resignation as one of the party’s spokespersons, it announced on Friday. He will however remain in the organisation.
