SA’s leading writers in M&G series

South African journalism gets a fresh boost next week with the participation of many of the country’s most exciting authors in the Mail & Guardian’s Special Writers Series.

The newspaper has harnessed top South African talent to the difficult task of capturing and interpreting the extraordinary transition we are all living through. We have asked them to write about their personal experience of change to mark the second anniversary of the country’s move to democracy and the inauguration of President Nelson Mandela.

Their work will be carried exclusively in a weekly series in the M&G.

We start next Friday with Andre Brink’s witty piece, “A shirt for all seasons”. Other participants over the coming weeks will include Njabulo Ndebele, Antjie Krog, Mark Behr and Farida Karodia.
