Call for entries

The Mail & Guardian‘s Greening the Future Awards provide a platform for showcasing corporate environmental best practice.

Our panel of judges comprises some of the most esteemed and forward-thinking minds involved in shaping environmental sustainability in South Africa. Winners will feature in a celebratory supplement in June, which will also stimulate debate on progress made following the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002.

The M&G will host the awards ceremony, which will take place during World Environmental Week in June 2007.

This year, we add a new energy and carbon management category in awareness of the rising effects of global warming. Innovative programmes to lessen carbon footprints on the world will be rewarded.

Once again, there will be an award for innovative environmental strategies that improve business performance, and organisations with ”most improved” environmental practices will be rewarded.

Our chemical safety award is again sponsored by the Chemical and Allied Industries Association, as we continue to encourage responsible use of chemicals and toxins.

Entrants are welcome to enter more than one category. The closing date for entries is April 20 2007.
