The Freedom Front Plus says that even if the Oilgate scandal ruins the party financially, it won't disclose its sources and will contest empowerment company Imvume Management court bid to force it to do so. The issue stems from disclosures about the scandal that the FF+ made in the National Assembly in June.
The Freedom Front Plus has won the University of Pretoria's annual student representative council elections for the ninth time in a row, party leader Pieter Mulder said on Monday. ''The result is of special importance seen in the light of the language debate which is currently taking place at historically Afrikaans universities,'' Mulder said.

The Freedom Front Plus has called for a national debate on the future of affirmative action in South Africa. The party says that studies carried out in other parts of the world show that quotas based along racial lines do not work, and that an alternative must be sought and implemented.
In a protest on Thursday against the unequal donation policies of big business during the elections, the Freedom Front Plus handed back R10Â 000 to Sanlam at its head offices in Bellville, near Cape Town. ''We don't want this donation ... it is humiliation,'' FF+ leader Dr Pieter Mulder told journalists.
The Democratic Alliance on Thursday said almost the entire provincial leadership of the Freedom Front Plus in Limpopo had decided to join it instead. However, the FF+ said all provincial structures had been disbanded after provincial leader Gerhard Venter had apparently appeared in court on a criminal charge.
