Rangers to sign five new stars

TUESDAY, 12.00NOON:

MANNING RANGERS general manager Afzal Khan has asked the team’s supporters not to worry just because George Koumantarakis is gone. Rangers will soon sign five top players, three of them from outside the country.

“Our supporters should not lose sleep because George is gone. In fact, the club is going to grow stronger because we are going on a signing spree, ” said Khan. One striker is from Zimbabwe, but Khan refused to disclose where the other two players are from. “He is strong, fast and deadly,” said Khan of the unnamed Zimbabwean striker. He dismissed claims that Koumantarakis was sold for R500 000 to SuperSport United. “That figure is nowhere near to what we sold him for.”

Meanwhile, Wieslaw Grabowski, the Zimbabwean agent of Alois Bunjira and Stewart Murisa, who are reported to have been signed by AmaZulu soccer club, denied any knowledge of his players moving to the Durban-based club. “That’s news to me,” he said.
