Bucs trade three players for Magagula

THURSDAY, 1.00PM:

ORLANDO Pirates have released three players — Naughty Mokeona, Sidwell Maboe and Vincent Sokhela — to AmaZulu in exchange with midfielder Simon Magagula.

AmaZulu manager Lawrence Ngubane confirmed the move: ”We need players more than money, that is why we decided to swap Magagula instead of selling him.”

Magagula, who is at present training with Pirates, said: ”I will meet with Bra Irvin [Khoza] to finalise things. I have not signed for Pirates yet but things will be cleared after my meeting with him,” referring to the Pirates director Irvin Khoza.

Meanwhile, Mokoena, Maboe and Sokhela made their debuts for AmaZulu on Wednesday, in a Rothmans Cup preliminary round match against African Wanderers in Durban. Maboe scored one goal as AmaZulu won 4-0.

In another Rothmans Cup preliminary round match, Lightbody Santos beat Real Rovers 2-0 in Cape Town on Wednesday night.
