Roelf promises to tell al to TRC

THURSDAY, 5.30PM

NEW Movement Process leader Roelf Meyer on Thursday said he intends giving the Truth and Reconciliation Commission details about the national security management system under the previous government.

“The information could be vital for the commission,” he told reporters in Pretoria.

Meyer is one of several former cabinet members asked to testify before the commission at a public hearing in October.

On Thursday he said he could provide particular knowledge on the National Party’s controversial security management system. “The commission earlier asked me to explain how the system had functioned,” he said. “I have since decided to interact with them to see what information they lacked.”

Meyer said what he had to convey to the commission could be important to the body, adding: “They must have the full picture.”
