New features

The Mail & Guardian announces two new features.

From this week we are launching a new political column, Crossfire, which is to be written on a rotational basis by some of the leading commentators in the country. In the first Crossfire, Jeremy Cronin asks under what conditions a merger between the African National Congress and the Inkatha Freedom Party would be desirable and challenges the conventional view of “multipartyism”

From next week, Njongonkulu Ndungane, the Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, will write, Ubuntu, a weekly column for the M&G commenting on the moral issues of the day. In a high-speed, market- driven world where materialism and narcissism are the order of the day, Ubuntu will remind us of the values that are the real test of our humanity.
