Give a book to a child

On the World Day of the Book, April 23, readers, authors, publishers, librarians and booksellers all over the world will pay tribute to the most successful artefact ever invented -the book.

This year, Exclusive Books is providing two opportunities for the public to participate in the book day act of giving.

Firstly, you are invited to bring books which you no longer require to Exclusive Books shops on April 23 for donation to understocked community libraries around the country. Customers will receive a red rose in exchange.

Secondly, Exclusive Books invites you to buy a book for a disadvantaged child on April 23. Penguin Books and the Read Educational Trust are providing a special selection of relevant and inexpensive children’s books, which will be on display in the Exclusive Books shops. You can then place them in donation boxes in the shops and Read will distribute them.
