SWAZIS MAY FIRE OLYMPIC CHIEF

SWAZILAND’s national Olympic committee will decide on Wednesday whether to fire its president, David Sibandze, following his resignation from the International Olympic Committee on Sunday. Sibandze (66) resigned along with three other members at the weekend in the worst corruption scandal to rock the IOC in its 105-year history. IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch also called for the expulsion of an additional six members who are accused of accepting favours or other incentives to back Salt Lake City’s successful bid for the 2002 winter games. Sibandze’s son, Sibo, was given a job with the Salt Lake City Economic Development Office after receiving a master’s degree from the University of Utah.
