‘OFF WITH THEIR EARS’

PAN African Congress leader Stanley Mogoba called on Monday for criminals to be punished by amputation. In a three-page letter to the media, Mogoba said the country must fight criminals “with all that it takes”. He wrote: “We must knock them on the head, cut off their ears, legs or whatever is the offending part of the body.” The former Methodist bishop said the ugly truth is that everything related to the future of South Africans depends on ruthlessly “crushing” criminals. Mogoba said many people sacrificed their lives to bring freedom and full human rights to all South Africans. He said everything possible had been done to remove the white minority government — “How, now, can we tolerate another minority government — this time of criminals?”
