EVERGREEN “Baby” Jake Matlala is likely to challenge WBU flyweight champion Peter Culshaw in England on May 15 in a bid to win his fourth world title, boxing promoter Rodney Berman said on Wednesday. If victorious, 37-year-old Matlala — the current IBA junior flyweight title holder and former WBO flyweight and WBO junior flyweight champion — will carry on to defend the WBU belt twice. He will probably also vacate the IBA crown, Berman said. Culshaw, who won the vacant belt by stopping South African Mzukisi Marali last year, has a record of 15 wins, one loss and one draw. Matlala, the first South African to win world titles in two weight divisions and the only one to win three world titles, is 50-10-2.
