SUEZ EARNS FOR EGYPT

EGYPT earned $156,4-million in January from Suez Canal receipts, the same as in December, 1998, the cabinet’s March statistical bulletin said on Thursday. The receipts were $145,0-million in January, 1998, it said. The canal is a main source of hard currency for Egypt, along with expatriated remittances, tourism and oil.
