THE two Libyan suspects of the 1988 Lockerbie plane bombing are satisfied with the conditions of their detention in the Netherlands where they are awaiting trial, Libyan state television reported on Saturday. Al-Amine Khalifa Fhimah (43) and Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi (47) “called their parents by phone to assure them that all humanitarian requirements were being met,” the report said.The two suspects were accused in 1991 by British and US investigators of having planted a bomb on the US Boeing 747 which exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988 killing 270 people.They are being held in the Netherlands where they will be tried under Scottish law under a special deal agreed with the Libyan authorities.The two men were transferred from Tripoli to the Netherlands on Monday, protesting their innocence.
