TRAWLER CREW STILL MISSING

RESCUE services on Monday launched an air and sea search for the remaining 13 crew of a missing South African trawler after the bodies of three crew were recovered off the Eastern Cape coast, police said. The bodies were recovered mid-Monday in the Indian Ocean off the fishing port of Cape St. Francis, police Superintendent John Best said. Best said the vessel sent out a Mayday signal early in the morning, before wreckage believed to be from the missing trawler was sighted on the coast west of Cape St. Francis. “At that time the seas were — and they still are — in excess of six metres and the wind was in excess of 80km an hour,” he said.
