AFTER nearly two weeks alleged drug-lord Gavin Carolus will be able to retrieve his impounded assets after a ruling in the Cape High Court on Wednesday. Justice Andre Blignault said that pending the appeal by the National Director of Public Prosecutions against the judgment, which rendered the Preservation of Property Order ineffective on April 15, Carolus will get his immovable and disposable property back. When granting the order, Judge Blignault added that the return of Carolus’ assets will be subject to conditions. He said Carolus will retain his fixed properties subject to the endorsements which have been registered against the title deeds of the said properties. Carolus’ bank accounts will be unfrozen, but he will not be able to dispose of any of his properties pending investigations by an appointed curator.
