THE department of Home Affairs on Monday announced that it has completed the processing and issuing of ID books to people who registered for the June 2 elections using temporary registration certificates. The department said in a statement issued in Pretoria applications which have resulted in queries are still being completed. ID book applicants who have indicated that they will collect their documents are able to do so from Monday. This week has been declared “a blitz delivery week” and postmasters, local authorities, tribal authorities and the Independent Electoral Commission will assist in making sure ID books will reach their owners, which they will need to vote.
