THE task team which was appointed to investigate axing of employees at the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation, including that of journalist Max du Preez, has defined its terms of reference, the SABC board announced on Wednesday. The investigation will include the failure to renew Du Preez’s contract. Du Preez presented the award winning programme Special Assignment on SABC3. The sacking of five disc jockeys during the restructuring of Metro FM will also be investigated. The terms of reference include dealing with any litigation pending. Litigation must be completed before the next phase can begin. The SABC is negotiating with the legal representatives in these outstanding cases, the board said. As soon as this is completed, submissions will be requested and the task team will convene to complete hearings and compile its report.
