R1m PRETORIA CASH HEIST

A GANG of robbers escaped with more than R1-million when they hit a cash transporter at Pretoria’s Centurion shopping mall on Wednesday. Police spokesperson Inspector Gideon Thessner said two armed men hijacked the Khulani Springbok Patrols van at the mall while it was occupied by a single guard, and ordered him to drive to Clubview, where they were met by five more robbers in a red BMW. The gang removed the cash from the van, as well as the guard’s cellphone and firearm, before fleeing in the BMW.
