MNISI MURDER: FOURTH SUSPECT IN COURT

A man appeared in the Mhala court on Monday in connection with the murder of Aleta Rose Mnisi, the wife of former Mpumalanga environmental affairs MEC, Luckson Mathebula. Northern Province police spokesperson Phuti Setati said Moses Sambo was arrested on Sunday and taken to Thulamahashe, in the Bushbuckridge area. Mnisi was shot dead in front of colleagues on June 9 while on her way home from the Khokhovhela Primary School near Thulamahashe, where she was a teacher. Mathebula was arrested two weeks ago in connection with the murder of his wife. His girlfriend, Pretty Thembi Gama turned state witness last Thursday, after she was also arrested in connection with the murder — along with a sangoma, Jimmy Chauke. She was placed under police protection. Setati said Sambo was charged with murder and remanded in custody. The case was postponed to Wednesday and Sambo will appear in the Ritavi Magistrate court with Mathebula. Police are looking for another suspect.
