PHOSA RESIGNS FROM PARLIAMENT

FORMER Mpumalanga Premier Mathews Phosa on Thursday refuted media reports that he planned to retire from active politics but confirmed he will resign his seat in Parliament. Speaking at a Johannesburg press conference, Phosa said he intends resigning his seat in the National Assembly to pursue private business interests. He stressed, however, that he intends remaining active in the African National Congress in Mpumalanga. Phosa also denied SABC News reports that he is set to join a large corporation, saying that he will instead be launching his own string of businesses and companies.
