WORLD class sprinter Frankie Fredericks will compete for Namibia in the 7th All-Africa Games to be held in South Africa in September. Compared to the team that represented the country at the 6th All-Africa Games in Egypt in 1995, the 1999 team has been reduced by more than half. Only 80 athletes will now represent the country as opposed to the 180 who won Namibia seven medals and a 14th placing, out of 48 countries, at the Cairo Games four years ago. Namibia will be compete in 10 areas, among them netball, which is a demonstration sport. The Namibian team departs for Johannesburg on September 8.
