LISTED telecoms firm Spescom, through its empowerment arm Leseding Investments, has won a Telkom tender worth R30-million or more over two years. The firm will supply Telkom with terminal adapters for its integrated services digital network (ISDN). The company said on Wednesday that this is part of Telkom’s rollout of new ISDN lines throughout Southern Africa. Leseding is a Spescom initiative, set up just under two years ago, to empower its black employees and to complement Spescom’s other empowerment initiatives. Among these are the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises in accordance with government’s industrial policy and the enabling of shareholdings in Spescom by black empowerment investment companies.
