THE Cape Times faces a R3-million defamation claim for publishing on its front page a prominent photograph of a man being detained by police for questioning at the Cape Town International Airport in connection with the bomb blast at the Planet Hollywood restaurant in August last year. A High Court summons has been served, and the newspaper has notified its intention to defend the suit. The claim comprises three separate amounts of R1-million each, by Cape Town businessman Walleed Suliman.
