WINGER Joe Roff was dropped on Thursday as selectors made three changes to the Wallabies for the Bledisloe Cup Test against New Zealand here on August 28. Selectors also resisted the temptation to rush back key players, skipper John Eales and flyhalf Stephen Larkham. Coach Rod Macqueen said selectors considered both Eales and Larkham after they returned from injury to representative rugby in the Australian Barbarians’ 31-25 win over Fiji here Wednesday. Roff was the biggest casualty from the successive Tri Nations losses to New Zealand and South Africa, dropping back to the bench to make way for veteran Jason Little. Inside centre Nathan Grey also lost his starting spot as selectors opted for a backline reshuffle, introducing Rod Kafer at flyhalf and pushing Tim Horan back to the centres. Queensland lock Mark Connors won his way into the starting team at the expense of Tom Bowman, while flanker Finegan was added to the reserves after returning from injury.
