SASOL plans to embark on a new joint venture with Engen aimed at capturing more than a third of local petrol sales, according to the Business Report. Speaking yesterday at the oil and chemical firm’s annual results presentation, Sasol’s chief executive, Pieter Cox, said the broad outline of the link-up will be agreed on within two months. He said the new company will seek a strong black empowerment component. Cox said it should have up to 35% of the South African liquid fuels market and may possibly be listed.
