THIRSK OUT OF GAMES TEAM

THE South African All-Africa Games swimming squad was dealt a blow on Tuesday when champion backstroker Simon Thirsk withdrew because of illness. A replacement for Thirsk, who holds the African 50m and 100m records, has yet to be named.
