Keith Sweat – pictured here in resplendent topiary, and wearing a sizeable diamond – performs three live concerts in South Africa at the end of October.
Billed as the biggest R&B event in the country to date, Sweat’s co-performers will be the Canadian-born Deborah Cox and newcomer, Joe.
Sweat is the most famous of the three — big enough to be regarded by those on the fringes as a has-been – Cox, however, recently saw her debut album turn gold. The obscure Joe has been described as having “a sound as sultry as a summer afternoon”.
Concerts will take place in Durban on October 27 at the Kings Park Stadium, on October 29 at the Johannesburg Stadium, and on October 31 in Cape Town at the Belville Velodrome.
Summer launches with a big sweat.
