DEMOCRATIC Republic of Congo President Laurent Kabila on Wednesday formally invited rebel leaders to attend reconciliation talks in Kinshasa in line with the terms of a ceasefire agreement. Kabila pledged that those taking part in the talks will “not be harassed before, during and after” the talks. The Lusaka agreement which aims to put an end to the conflict in the central African country was signed on July 10 by Kinshasa and its allies in Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe as well as by Rwanda and Uganda, which both back the rebels. The rebels initialed the accord on August 31.
