‘DOLNY OVERSTEPPED HER AUTHORITY’

A REPORT on alleged misconduct by Land Bank managing director Helena Dolny found evidence of wrongdoing, Land Bank board chairman Sam Mkhabela said in Pretoria on Monday. “On a prima facie basis, there is evidence of wrongdoing,” Mkhabela said. The report said Dolny overstepped her authority when she instructed that the salaries of the six top bank officials, including herself, be increased. Reports in September speculated that Dolny had been exonerated on allegations of corruption, racism and nepotism. The allegations were first made by former Land Bank board chairman Bonile Jack, in a report to the land affairs and agriculture. Jack’s accusations were investigated by an independent commission of inquiry, which handed its findings to the Land Bank board.
