NAMPAK BIDS FOR PLYSU

THE South African packaging, paper and credit card manufacturer Nampak, has bid R970-million for Plysu, a British plastic container firm. Plysu’s board has recommended it accept the bid, although it still may be scrutinised by the British competition body and the European Commission. Nampak intends to delist Plysu, if the takeover goes ahead, according to Business Report. The paper reports the move marks Nampak’s second acquisition in Britain and the second outside South Africa.
