SPRINGBOK centre Brendan Venter on Thursday lost his appeal against a 21-day ban for stamping, World Cup organisers said. The decision, taken at a meeting of the tournament disciplinary committee at Twickenham, means Venter will not be available for Sunday’s quarter-final against England in Paris. Venter was sent off just before halftime in Friday’s group defeat of Uruguay for stamping on flanker Martin Panizza.
