MUBARAK IN GOOD HEALTH

EGYPTIAN President Hosni Mubarak has been given a clean bill of health after undergoing a series of medical tests on his ear at a Paris military hospital, an Egyptian newspaper reported Thursday. “The tests confirmed he is fine,” the pro-government Al-Ahram newspaper said. Mubarak, who is due back in Cairo later Thursday, held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and French President Jacques Chirac during his ten-day stay in Paris. “Mubarak’s medical examinations did not prevent him from continuing his meetings and communications,” said Egypt’s ambassador to France Ali Maher al-Sayed, quoted in Al-Ahram. Mubarak, 71, underwent tests at the Val de Grace military hospital for an inflammation of the ear, according to official sources in Cairo.
