LAND BANK MAY SUE DOLNY

THE Land Bank is considering legal action against outgoing Land Bank MD Helena Dolny after she allegedly made defamatory remarks this week. At the same it is expected that Dolny will sue The Star newspaper as well as former Land Bank chair Bonile Jack who brought allegations of racism and corruption against her. Dolny claimed in an interview that the Department of Land Affairs is conducting “ethnic cleansing” and is involved in a purge of the “white left” from its ranks. Dolny’s term of office ends today. She resigned amid controversy over the awarding of high salary increases to several top officials at the bank, including herself. An internal inquiry recently cleared her of charges of racism and nepotism but criticized the pay increases. In the interview Dolny claimed that several whites have been forced to leave the department since July.
