RECEIVER TO NET EVADERS WITH NEW SYSTEM

THE South African Revenue Service announced on Wednesday that is has installed a new computer-based income tax system that will largely stamp out tax evasion and increase state revenue. The system was installed last month. “We can now confidently announce that we have made it much harder for tax evaders to escape the tax net,” SARS Commissioner Pravin Gordhan said. “We have already experienced significant benefits. I can assure you that we will get more than the R193bn in personal income tax that we are required to collect this year.”
