A SECURITY official, suspected of raping a 24-year-old museum worker on Robben Island, was been found dead in Riviersonderend in the Western Cape, police reported. The man was found hanging from a tree on a farm on Thursday. The information, however, was only made public on Tuesday. A yellow tow-rope was tied around his neck and his car was found in the bush about 200m from the tree. Police said that foul play is not expected as it would appear the man drove himself to the scene.
