MALAWIAN President Bakili Muluzi launched the Malawi Revenue Authority on Tuesday. The revenue collection body has been formed from the ashes of the Department of Customs and Excise and the Department of Income, which hitherto collected government revenue. With the current annual income generation of nine billion kwacha (about $205-million), he said the country needs to collect an additional 3 billion kwacha to comfortably satisfy its needs.
