GHANA BOOK DAVIS CUP SPOT

GHANA on Saturday qualified for the Euro-Africa Zone three tournament when they took an unbeatable 2-0 lead over Andorra in the semi-finals of the Davis Cup Zone Four competition at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis courts. Frank Ofori beat Jean Baptiste Poux 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 while Gunther Darkey defeated Joan Jimenez 6-2, 6-4. In the other semi-final singles matches, Mauritius and Algeria were level 1-1 after the singles matches. Mauritian Jean-Marcel Bougault Du Coudray beat Nourredine Mahmoudi 6-4, 6-1 while Abdelhak Hameurlaine of Algeria defeated Kamil Patel 6-3, 6-1. In Group B, Algeria beat Cameroon 3-0, Mauritius defeated Azerbaijan 2-1. In group A, Liechtenstein beat Sudan 2-1 and in the other group, Algeria won 2-1 against Andorra
