Lekoelea back for Bucs

OWN CORRESPONDENT, Cape Town | Wednesday 2.00pm.

ORLANDO Pirates will receive a welcome boost in their match against AmaZulu on Wednesday night with the return of Bafana Bafana midfielder Steve “Chippa” Lekoelea.

Lekoelea has been out of action after being injured in the Amaglug-glug’s first-leg Olympic qualifying match against Cameroon at Vosloorus two weeks ago.

Thabo Mngomeni, Lekoelea’s partner in midfield, is suffering from a slight injury, but he should be ready to play against AmaZulu.

The Buccaneers have more injury worries with Clinton Larsen and Phapi Khomane unable to play. Larsen is struggling with a recurring injury, while Khomane’s pelvis is giving him trouble.

AmaZulu held Pirates to a 0-0 draw in their first-leg played at home, but it was a superhuman effort and it is likely that Pirates will will be too strong this time around.
