TV PRESENTER GRANTED R92577 IN DAMAGES

TELEVISION presenter Tracy Going’s former lover, Richard Latham, has to pay her damages R92577 for assaulting her. In a default judgment pursued in the absence of Latham, the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court granted Going the money for the pain she suffered at Latham’s hands. Clinical psychologist Leonard Carr, who evaluated Going, said the extent of the abuse suffered by the Morning Live presenter had resulted in her becoming “extremely frightened and tearful” if people got too physically close to her. As a result of the assault, Going showed signs of chronic post-traumatic stress disorder, Carr said. At the time of the assault, three years ago, Going’s injuries resulted in her being unable to work for two weeks.
