BOESAK BLAZE WAS NOT ARSON

POLICE have ruled out the possibility that arson was the cause of the blaze which gutted the Pinelands home of former anti-apartheid cleric Allan Boesak. Police said they have found no firm evidence of foul play and there were no traces of solvents, flammable liquids or incidiary devices. Shortly after the fire, which happened early last Tuesday morning, Boesak claimed that the blaze was caused by a pipe bomb and was meant as a threat ahead of his court appeal against a six-year sentence for fraud.
