SUPER 12 RUGBY BETTER, SAYS JOHNSTONE

FORMER All Black prop Brad Johnstone, currently coaching Italy in the Six Nations, said on Wednesday that the rugby played in the Six Nations is not on par with that seen in the Super 12 championship. Johnstone, who coached Fifi to the World Cup quarter-finals before signing an initial two-year contract with the Italians said, however, that the atmosphere and crowds at the Six Nations are better than those encountered in the Super 12. “I have been a little disappointed by the level of rugby and would rank the Six Nations below the Super 12 in terms of skill and rugby ability as there are far too many handling errors,” said Johnstone.”The crowds, though, are fantastic and the atmosphere is excellent which is what makes it such a fantastic championship.”
