NIGERIAN VICE PRESIDENT IN SA

NIGERIAN Vice President Atiku Abubakar arrives in South Africa on Wednesday for a five-day official visit. Abubakar will be accompanied by some ministers, including those of agriculture, industry and commerce. Others are President Olusegun Obasanjo’s special adviser on petroleum, and officials from the justice, education, science and solid minerals ministries.Nigerian officials said they hoped the five-day talks would lead to the signing of a series of technical agreements between Nigeria and South Africa. South African Vice President Jacob Zuma led a 40-member South African delegation to Nigeria for a previous round of bilateral talks last October as part of efforts to increase co-operation between the two largest economies in sub-Saharan Africa.
